A picture of the Unknown Rockstar drinking beer inspired Toxic Chicken to create this album of sometimes fun and sometimes quite beautiful electronic music. Funky; a good time Toxic Chicken is the long running project of one Kai Nobuko. Toxic Chicken uses a craptop to create idiosyncratic, humorous and enchanting electronic music. Absurdist, experimental, but accessible.

Loops, phrases, and rhythms lurch in and out of focus around each other. As sounds and moods progress, surprises and magic happen. I've never heard anything else that sounds quite like this. Tangent is an artist focusing on electronic, computer based, algorithmic, and process music, although there's still plenty of room for improvisation within this remit, particularly plunderphone improvision. Recorded on a phone in the toilets of Wales and England, with a splash of Spain, Portugal & Romania for good measure. The Doll has been making no-fi sounds since 2004. Art should reflect the artist’s vision for the world. The world this piece intends to create is shrouded in spectral lights and abysmal darkness, it is a world caught between bestial cruelty and yearning sentimentality. Darkness and Light exist on the same continuum, and art should be willing to reflect the spectrum, between sheer horror and radiant beauty. This album should be seen as an effort to that end. This album is essentially a collection of semi-spontaneous improvisations made over...

Recorded live at the Festiva of Enjoyment at Enjoy Gallery in Wellington NZ on the 25th November 2002. Jeff plays baritone sax on the first track, and tenor sax on the second. A performance with the aggression of the title. The first track starts with a roaring wall of sax noise, working its way to a power drone tone (that has given me images of Jeff with a saxophone mouthpiece connected to a jet engine), and then to more subtle tonal landscapes. This album is constructed from guitar drones, keyboard washes, and mutated samples. A father/son duo that collide their differing ideas and music creation techniques together, and assemble the bits into unusual albums with a whiff of power and madness.

Forceful electronic music, and brute-force sampling. A solo experimental project, of usually improvised music of different forms. Tangent Precipitate journeyed through a broad range of music production techniques and genres. Generally albums had an emphasis on the capture of the raw and unpredictable creative moment. Tangent Precipitate has been retired, and further music is now produced as the Unknown Rockstar and as Tangent.

An album of keyboard/organ music. The first and third tracks are live recordings of a Hammond, and the second track is "...a live recording of keyboard through delay, played with a mind for interlocking/interweaving figures and exploring overtones - I find that listening to it intently sets me in powerful trance states." A solo experimental project, of usually improvised music of different forms. Tangent Precipitate journeyed through a broad range of music production techniques and...

Disturbed Bits is a series of long pieces of beautiful and intense power electronics. They investigate the ability of the juxtaposition of treated loops of different varieties to create resultant sounds that are different in character from the source material, perhaps "greater than the sum of its parts" as it were. The second set of five use pure granular superimposition to build tracks, with a different approach to most users of granular synthesis. A solo experimental project, of...
